Cricket fans meet Durban Super Giants stars in Port Shepstone

Aiden Markram, Kwena Maphaka and Gerald Coetzee were in town.

South African cricketer and captain of the national team in Twenty20 International cricket and vice-captain in One Day International and Test cricket, Aiden Markram, was spotted in Port Shepstone recently.

South Coasters had the privilege to meet and greet three international cricket players, namely, Aiden Markram, Kwena Maphaka and Gerald Coetzee at the Lockhat Cricket Arena at Fairview Terrace.

The trio, now playing for the Durban Super Giants, competing in the SA 20 cricket competition were brought down by local auditing firm, Lockhat Incorporated.

They joined locals, more importantly, youngsters who got signed autographs, photos and a short game.
Managing director of Lockhat Incorporated, Imraan Lockhat, said the aim is to revive interest in cricket, which has long been a source of pride for South Africa.

“This initiative not only supports the players and the league, but also brings the community closer together. We are particularly focused on nurturing young talent, with a vision of transforming aspiring individuals into future chartered accountants and business leaders.”

Overall, the focus is to inspire change and growth, both on and off the cricket field.
