San Lameer Country Club set to welcome mid-amateurs
Home territory should give the locals an advantage.
Staying the A-section will be the absolute minimum requirement for the KZN mid-amateur golf team at this year’s IPT.
That will be goal number one, without a doubt. Winning this tournament has only been done once by a KZN team and it has proven to be an extremely tough task, especially when one considers the depth Central Gauteng and Western Province generally have.

But after winning the B-division last year, KZN will want to maintain the momentum when the tournament gets under way at San Lameer Country Club on Monday.
It will be played over five days, from October 5 to 9.
KZN will be captained by Gavin Sole, aka Big Fish. He knows his way around San Lameer better than most and will no doubt be looking forward to the challenge.
He will be joined by his fellow Skzn players Jean-Marc Bouic (Southbroom) and Jan McDermot (Umdoni Park).
The remainder of the team comprises Gitesh Maharaj (Amanzimtoti), Clayton Mansfield (Mount Edgecombe CC), Grant Olivier (Drakensburg Gardens), Greg Smith (Simbithi) and Kalvin van Rensburg (Amanzimtoti). Wynand de Swardt is the manager.
