Busy week, great golf for Port Shepstone Country Club

There's been plenty on the go.

It’s been a busy week at Port Shepstone Country Club.

Members enjoyed a farewell competition for assistant pro James Coull on September 23 before he heads off to the United States.

This was won by Gavin van Wyk and Ilse Steyn on 44 points.

Runners-up were Piet Snyman and Jen Hulley on 42 points, counting out Annie Creane and Allan Rowley.

In fourth place were Rudi Steyn and Lionel Peters on 41 points, with Charles Hulley and Ian Stewart next on 40 points.

The Heritage Day Golf Classic last Thursday was won by Louis Visser on 39 points, from Charles Hulley on 36 points. Then came Rudi Steyn on 35 points, with Michael du Toit next on 33 points.

The day featured an Individual Stableford golf competition, along with the Sheppie Lions Potjie Champs, where nine teams went head-to-head to prepare their finest potjies.

The Hibiscus Coast Electrical Fowl Friday saw Ian Stewart win on 21 points, from Basil King on 20 points, who counted out Allan Clark.
Next were Michael du Toit on 19 points and Chris du Plessis on 18 points.

Round 8 of the Ten Cup Series took place last Saturday, with 53 players taking to the course.

The winner was Rudi Steyn on 42 points, with Gavin van Wyk next on 41 points, then Michael du Toit on 40 points, Dr Ayoob Bux on 37 points, Ram Nandhoo on 36 points and Ganes Munsami on 35 points.

Nearest the pins were: Sanjay Singh (5th), Connor Wheatcroft (8th), Francois du Toit (14th), Ganes Munsami (17th).

Only two more rounds remain before the 2026 champion is decided.
