Kardashian theft linked to drug debt

Lamar Odom's drug dealers are thought to be involved in the recent burglary at his and Khloe Kardashian's former marital home.

The 34-year-old basketball star reportedly owed $55,000 to two major suppliers last year and, when he didn’t pay up, the alleged dealers threatened to break into his mansion in Los Angeles and steal what they were owed, according to TMZ.com.

An insider claimed Lamar owed one supplier $15,000 and another $50,000 when he left for Spain to play in the European basketball league last September, and he reportedly refused to pay his debt because he thought the quality of the drugs were not up to scratch.

Police are still investigating the crime, which was detected on Monday night (03.03.14) by Khloe (29), and her mother Kris Jenner when they were clearing out the property ready for its new owners. It is believed watches and gold chains – worth $250,000 – have been stolen from the house, but there was no sign of a forced entry.

Khloe and Lamar bought the seven-bedroom property for $3.95 million shortly after they tied the knot in 2009, but after the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star filed for divorce in December, following allegations he had a drug problem and cheated on her multiple times, the pair separated and decided to sell up.

Meanwhile, Khloe’s sister Kourtney has also recently been targeted by thieves and had $50,000 in cash taken from her Calabasas home in Los Angeles, last month.
