Bass fishermen head to Port Edward
Fishing will be catch-and-release.
IT is almost time for the annual Port Edward Bass Classic, organised by the South Coast Bass Association. The competition will take place on selected dams in Port Edward this Saturday, October 31.
The captains’ briefing will be held this Friday night before at TO Strand in Leisure Bay at 6pm.
Fishing will be strictly catch-and-release. Only artificial lures may be used. Accommodation is available at TO Strand. Camping rates are very reasonable.
Prizes include two kickboats, sponsored by Ferral Inflatables and Pisces Predator, plus fishing tackle, a sneaker motor, four half-lambs, holidays away, and more.
Entry is R80 each and tickets are available at Gremlins Tackle Shop. A donation will be made to a local charity after the event.
The organisers hope to have many entries, especially women and juniors. Last year the kickboats were both won by juniors.
