Windy tennis proves tough

Some regulars are away on holiday.

WITH the wind howling through the valley, playing one’s usual shots became an almost impossible task at Umtentweni Tennis Club last Saturday.

Nevertheless, there were three courts going and with Colin Barker on duty, everyone knew there would be a wonderful variety of eats from Cathy and we certainly weren’t disappointed.

A delicious snack platter as well as sarmies and a cheesecake quickly disappeared.

It was great to have Dave Whateley back on the courts after a long stay-away and we hope his shoulder didn’t take too much strain.

Foxy and Tracy Norton have gone down south to St Francis and members wish them an enjoyable time down there.

Grateful thanks go to Carl Grobler for his help with our lease agreement and members wish Pam a speedy return to the courts.

Saturday duty: February 27 – Lynne Rorich; March 5 – Grant Wood.
