5 Things to do to avoid a hangover

There are some ways to reduce the after-effects of a big night out.

You don’t have to give up alcohol altogether to avoid getting a major hangover after a fun night out.

Here are some tips that may help avoid the dreaded hangover, as suggested in The Doctors Book of Home Remedies.

1. Drink slowly. Give your body more time to burn that alcohol.

2. Drink on a full stomach. Food slows the absorption of alcohol.

3. Drink the right drinks. The least perilous is vodka; cognacs, brandies, whiskies and champagne the worst, with red wine not far behind.

4. Be size sensitive.

5. Have an Alka-Seltzer cocktail at bedtime. Or two aspirin tablets.
