Get carsick? Try these 4 natural remedies before reaching for the medication

December usually means travelling - some times for hours - to your holiday destination. You can try these tips which may help ward off motion sickness.

These  traditional cures, as published in The Doctor’s Book of Home Remedies, may or may not work, but they are certainly worth a try if you are prone to travel sickness:

  • Ginger tea – steep a knob of peeled ginger in boiling water and sip when cooled
  • Lemons and olives – eating either of these when you first start feeling nauseous may help prevent it from becoming worse.

  • Acupressure wristbands – available from health stores and some pharmacies.
