1942: ‘Chattanooga Choo Choo’ goes solid gold
American bandleader Glenn Miller was presented with a special pressing of his hugely popular record ‘Chattanooga Choo Choo’ – the pressing was made of solid gold!

The swing hit officially sold a million copies – the first record ever to do so.
