Drakensberg Boys’ Choir to perform in Scottburgh

Their programme includes choral, classical and rock music as well as an indigenous repertoire.

THE world famous Drakensberg Boys’ Choir will perform at Scottburgh High on Sunday, September 8, courtesy of Scottburgh Methodist Church.

The show starts at 2pm.

The Drakensberg Boys’ Choir School (DBCS) was established in 1967, just over 50 years ago, by John Tungay to prepare young boys for life and leadership through excellence in music, academic, physical development and social enrichment, in a Christian environment.

Located near Winterton, in the heart of the Drakensberg mountains, the boarding school uses choral music as a significant vehicle for holistic education.

The choir has performed in the United States of America and across Europe and, even by Papal request, at the Vatican City.

Their programme includes choral, classical and rock music as well as an indigenous repertoire.

The generosity of the local community must be applauded and all those who helped in any way are thanked for their contributions.

Tickets at R120 are available at the Scottburgh Methodist Church. For more information call 039-9783182 or 084-9112483.

Cold drinks will be available both before the show and during the interval.
