Another addition to the Cadillac lineup for the 2020 model year will be the CT5 mid-size luxury sedan, replacing the CTS. It debuted at the 2019 New York International Auto Show and is expected to go on sale in 2019.
1902: Detroit’s founding father is honoured
Manufacturer Martin Leland honoured Detroit’s founding father Antoine de la Motte Cadillac by naming his new automobile after the French colonial administrator.

The new Cadillac car was lightweight and had a single cylinder engine designed by AP Brush. Beautifully designed and finished, the Cadillac aimed to carve a niche for itself as the Rolls-Royce of the American motor industry.

Ironically, in order to start their venture in the luxury car market, Leland and his partner Faulconer bought the ailing Detroit Automobile Company from the advocate of ‘Everyman’ motoring, Henry Ford.
