The club achieved an impressive medal tally, earning eight Vic Clapham medals (Danielle Turner, Kelly Saint, Zanele Dlungwana, Bianca Miller, Njabulo Langa, David Gibson, Lungelo Zama and Ricky Pillay); three bronze medals (Kirsty Moriarty, Prosper Cele and Musa Ntaka); three Robert Mtshali medals (Dina Fontana Buys, Peter Booysen and Thokozani Nzimande); three Bill Rowan medals (Sthembele Jeza, Brian Flascas and Howard Cele) and proudly celebrating its first-ever silver medal (Nkosi Ntuli).

Runners were enthusiastically supported by four Scottburgh Athletics Club support tables positioned along the route. Nicole Redman, who heads up the club’s Comrades Support Committee, expressed her gratitude to the local community for their generous sponsorships and support throughout the campaign.

In the lead-up to race day, runners enjoyed a pre-race breakfast where they were addressed by Dr Vi Longmore and Dean Wight from Beloved Long Runs. They also received their 2026 club jackets and attended an enjoyable Aches and Pains Party.

Numerous prizes were sponsored throughout the season, and the club extends a special thank you to Halfway Toyota for providing transport to both the start and finish venues. The support tables were exceptionally well stocked.

It is the first year the support vehicles were also sponsored with fuel, sponsored by Park Rynie Total.

Scottburgh Athletics Club is proud of all its runners and supporters and looks forward to the 2027 Down Run, which will mark the historic 100th running of the Comrades Marathon.
