[WATCH] A second chance for Cindy

Within the short space of time, she has made a commendable recovery.

With lots of tender love and care, a once neglected and traumatised dog has made an incredible turn around to become a trusting and nurtured resident of the Amanzimtoti SPCA.  Cindy was found tied to a tree in Isipingo.  She was bone thin and showed signs of deep emotional trauma.  She would flinch with every touch and defecate when picked up.  She has since been in the care of kennel supervisors for almost two weeks.

Within the short space of time, she has made a commendable recovery.  She is becoming more trusting to humans and has also gained weight, although she still needs to reach her weight goal.

The abandoned dog was given the name Cindy, after SPCA staff dressed her in a jersey and she looked as if she could strut down the runway like powerhouse supermodel Cindy Crawford.

The rehabilitation process will take around four to six weeks.  During the rehabilitation period, Cindy will be able to socialise and interact with both humans and other animals through activities such as dog walking.  But for now, it is all about love and affection that will aid her in possibly being re-homed.

Any assistance to aid Cindy’s recovery will be greatly appreciated.  Donations of good quality food, blankets, or funds will be welcomed. To assist Cindy use the following bank details: First National Bank, Amanzimtoti SPCA, account number: 62807184552, branch code: 220127, reference: Cindy.
