DURBAN Solid Waste (DSW) has become serious business for ward 97 committee secretary, Frank Horn as he, due to other commitments he had opted for an early dedicated 67 minutes in honour of the first democratically elected president, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.

The 67 minutes Frank spent with the DSW Amanzimtoti depot collection team is symbolic of Tata Madiba’s 67 years of devoted service to the country.

In his 67 minutes on the job, clinging to the back of the refuse collection truck, he cleared rubbish bags from the old CBD and Beach Road. The exercise is also significant to Frank as he will also hold the DSW portfolio during his tenure as a ward committee member.
