Call for support of PRC night market fundraisers

The Pregnancy Resource Centre (PRC) will host two fundraiser night markets in December.

“We usually host markets in the area to raise funds, but this year the centre was approached by Sapphire Coast Toti Tourism (SCTT) to host two on the promenade,” said centre director, Connie van Niekerk.

The markets will take place from 5pm to 10pm on Friday 13, December and Saturday, 21 December on the promenade between Rogies Park and Shad Place.

“We are looking for more stallholders, as we are looking to grow these markets.” The cost is R300 a stall and booking can be done by contacting Connie on 031-903-7359. “These markets are the centre’s biggest fundraisers, so we hope the public and marketers support us.”

PRC runs programmes such as Undiluted, which impacts the youth, an intervention programme which focuses on counselling, its mother home and mobile units which goes out into rural communities. PRC also has a single mothers’ assist programme. As a non-profit organisation, PRC relies on donations for its day-to-to activities.

“Pro Has has come on board to sponsor the safety plans, as well as medical and safety personnel for the events and PRC thanks it for this. We will have an awareness area set up at both markets for the public to learn about who we are and what we do.”

The PRC will also sell 600mm x 2,000mm banners to local businesses to advertise at each market at a cost of R300, which includes the printing of the banner. “If you have your own banner, then it will only cost R150. Businesses can keep their banners after the markets.”
