Beach hike sees guides, brownies build sand castles

The children had lots of fun building them.

AS District Commissioner for Isipingo Girl Guides, Reshma Ramouthar organised a beach hike for all Orient Hill Brownies, Kamalinee Brownies and Primrose Girl Guides on Saturday, 15 March.

As Primrose also has boy scouts, Reshma invited them along to the event at Reunion Park beach.

The hike started at 9am. The group hiked for an hour and then had a sandcastle building competition, which produced some very imaginative sand castles. The children had lots of fun building them.

The lifeguards gave an informative demonstration for the children.

Afterwards, the Brownies, Guides and Scouts had fun splashing about in the paddling pools until 1pm, when their parents arrived to collect them.
