Toti designer’s creations to grace 50 Shades fashion show
Kathryn de Jesus is one of eight designers who will showcase their fashions.
AMANZIMTOTI’S Kathryn De Jesus is one of eight designers who will feature her fabulous fashions at the inaugural and eagerly-anticipated 50 Shades of Black fashion show at the Square Conference Centre in Umhlanga Rocks on Saturday, 31 May.
Known as Katt to those close to her, she is the designer for KattWalk Clothing, a women’s clothing range.
“I have been dancing for 15 years, and all the glitz and glam that goes with it has had a huge impact on my decision to enter the fashion world. I am fortunate enough to have been brought up by artistic and creative parents,” she said.
She picked up her creative flair from her mother who sketches, paints and designs and her musical father, who is a Latin singer. “Being a part of this show is a huge honour and a great platform for KattWalk Clothing to reach a new audience.”
She describes her design style as sophisticated, modern, elegant and sexy. “My design is my own personal taste” she added.
Radio presenter, Varshan Sookhun and the Geness Foundation have nominated the KwaZulu-Natal Blind and Deaf Society as the beneficiary of this inaugural event. “I admire how this organisation assists and empowers the blind, partially blind and the deaf within our society. It also meets the objective of the Geness Foundation’s which supports established projects that responds to the critical development needs of all humanity in health, education, entrepreneurship and sport in Africa,” said Varshan.
Doors open at 5pm. Tickets are available at www.webtickets.co.za and cost R150 per person. For enquiries call Varshan on 082-882-0044 or email him on blacktheproduction@gmail.com during office hours or go to Facebook ’50 Shades of Black – A Couture Affair’ for more information.
