Load shedding hits Toti

Possibly more load shedding ahead.

POWER cuts left some without electricity yesterday evening, Wednesday, 11 June and more could be coming today, as Eskom warns of supply constraints.

High electricity usage and the unavailability of some of the generating units put pressure on the national grid yesterday leading to the blackouts in some areas and if the trend continues more can be expected.

Eskom officials believe the grid will be severely strained between 5.30pm and 6.30pm.

In a press release, the power utility requests users, including commercial consumers, delay the usage of heaters and switch off all non-essential appliances as the risk of load shedding is high during this time.

All emergency resources will be used if necessary, but should demand remain high, more load shedding will be implemented.
