Post-abortion course to empower counsellors
It will enhance counselling training techniques to equip counsellors.
AFRICA Cares for Life is hosting a post-abortion counselling course.
The course is from Tuesday to Thursday, 24 to 26 June, from 9am to 5pm at the Lionsgate Church, 24 Queens Terrace, Doonside.
The trainer is Daniele Gradwell. The cost is R650 per person and includes refreshments and a manual, but take your own lunch.
The content of the training covers: Setting the standards; development of post-abortion stress; the grieving process; healing tasks; establishing an abortion recovery programme; initial contact with post-abortion women; running a group and breakdown of sessions.
This course will enhance counselling training techniques to equip counsellors in understanding people facing post-abortion.
The abortion recovery peer counselling is endorsed by Africa Cares for Life as a best practice lay counselling methodology suitable for counselling ministry.
