Toti the focus of TV programme

The programme will be aired on Saturday, 9 August.

Toti will feature in a programme about the South Coast on DSTV.

Ontbytsake on channel 144, Kyknet, is doing a focus on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal.

“Our team visited special places to show South Africa what beautiful destinations are available to us,” said the programme’s marketing director, Eric Venter. “Amanzimtoti beaches are known to be some of the best in South Africa with few rocks and wide, rolling white sand.”

Over the past 10 years, Ontbytsake has become a well-known and familiar feature in the family rooms of Afrikaner households.

Dawie Roodt, the highly respected South African economist, anchors the programme that is broadcast every Saturday morning with re-broadcasts four times in the week.

Dawie is supported in the show by Jan Harm Schutte, Seline van der Wat and Eloise Cupido.

“During our stay on the South Coast, we selected The View Boutique Hotel and Spa to showcase the area, as well as the luxurious Giorgio’s restaurant, known as the most romantic restaurant on the South Coast and in Durban,” said Eric.

“The Spa at The View was our backdrop for some of the Amanzimtoti shoots.”

An important timeslot of the programme is allocated to the weekly Focus. With the Focus, emphasis is placed on the core aspects and business activities of a specific town, community or region.

This provides the ideal platform for the small and medium enterprises (SME) of that community to expose their business at a very affordable rate to a very specific target audience, in this case, the affluent Afrikaans community.

The crew also filmed at Cellucor, Alante Lodge, Mandy Massy Interiors, The Estuary Hotel, Aliwal Dive Centre, Solid Pumps and Design SA in Toti and further south.

“It was a privilege for our Ontbytsake team to meet various businesses on the South Coast and will present them to our audience,” said Eric.

The programme will be aired on Saturday, 9 August at between 7.30am and 9am on channel 114.

  1. Great news for all accommodation establishments in Amanzimtoti – a lot of BNB’s suffered a lot when the airport moved away so maybe it will bring more attention to Amanzimtoti as a holiday destination.
