Kingsway chefs-in the-making to compete in cook-off

They will compete against 19 other teams.

TWO Kingsway High School pupils, Isabelle Smith and Mickayla Lazarus will pit their cooking skills against 19 other teams at a competition in Pretoria in September.

The contest is run by Pick and Pay and is only for grade 11 pupils. Pupils had to submit a portfolio of a three course menu using different foods from Africa, including South Africa.

Three teams of two pupils entered and received certificates of acknowledgement, with Isabelle and Mickayla being chosen as one of 20 teams countrywide to compete in the cook-offs in Pretoria at the Prue Leith Academy from 4 to 5 September.

The duo and their teacher will be flown to Johannesburg and will be accommodated at the Leriba Hotel in Centurion. There are many wonderful prizes to be won, including a bursary to the Prue Leith Academy.
