Bag of dagga seized on school field

Man arrested and charged with possession of dagga.

TOTI SAPS secured 31 successful arrests up until Tuesday, 27 August, including one for possession of dagga.

On Friday, 22 August, at about 10am, a man was found in possession of a bag of dagga on school premises at Hlengiwe High School in Esiqhingini. He was arrested, appeared in court and was charged with possession of dagga. The case was postponed for further investigation.

One person was arrested for attempted theft; five for shoplifting; two for murder; seven for general theft and one for fraud.
Three people were arrested for possession of counterfeit goods; one for possession of car-breaking implements; two for drunk driving and four for traffic related offences.

One person was nabbed for breach of peace and another for failing to furnish particulars to a peace officer. Two warrants of arrests were effected, one for housebreaking and theft and the second for shoplifting.
Toti police also secured a conviction for shoplifting. Palesa Sithole (30) was fined R1,000 or six months’ imprisonment.
