Restored Toti River teeming with birdlife again

However some organisation will find a reason to open the river mouth and all will disappear again.

EDITOR – Here is the joy of seeing our river alive again.

With the railway track stabilisation complete, the removal of water hyacinth and the ocean being allowed to close the river mouth, we see the formation of the old lagoon and flood plain at the civic centre and adjoining Hutchison Park.

With abundant food, amazing bird life has returned. The fish eagle goliath, purple herons, kingfishers, giant pied and malachite are everywhere. We wish we can keep it like that.

However some organisation will find a reason to open the river mouth and all will disappear again.
