Burglars thwarted in Raleigh Rd

A member of the public called the CCPO to report suspicious activity in Raleigh Road.

Quick response by two security response officers led to the successful arrest of two burglars and their accomplice in Raleigh Road on Monday, 13 October.

According to Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) operations manager, Leon Joone, a member of the public called the CCPO to report suspicious activity in Raleigh Road.

” Quick response from Metro Police dog unit members, Sgt Jooste and W/O Niewoud and Chubb security reaction officers resulted in the arrest of two housebreaking suspects and the recovery of stolen property,” he said.

“A follow-up operation resulted in the arrest of the driver who had dropped the two suspects off in the area and, while trying to collect the suspects, was nabbed by Sgt Jooste and W/O Niewoud, assisted by the CCPO. Blue Security, ET Security and Chubb Security.

It is believed that one of the suspects was wanted for a house robbery that occurred in the Toti area.

Once again a fantastic joint effort by all. Thank you to the SAPS for the quick response.”
