Teddy Tin raises more than R3,000 for animal welfare
The money will be used for the organisation's love, feed and sterilisation programme.
PUPILS of Umdoni Pre-Primary School in Toti handed more than R3,252,60 in coins to 4 Paws and a Tale Rescue, which they collected last term via a Teddy Tin collection.
“The children bring in coins and they get a stamp. Through the Teddy Tin collection we support various charities during the year. It encourages to instill values and community service in them, to help those who are less privileged,” said principal, Marlene van der Meer.
Jacqueline Smith of the animal welfare organisation was ecstatic about the donation. “The money will go towards our love, feed and sterilisation programme.”
She also encourages the community to support its Mr Tin, silver Christmas collection drive. “I encourage all those who love animals to either collect a Mr Tin from Tale End Charity Shop in Phala Centre, Kort Street or contact me to make arrangements to drop off a few tins.”
Business are urged to support, if anyone is having an office party or year-end function, collect a can and pop in your silver coins, it will all go to a good cause.
