BREAKING NEWS: Health warning issued: Sewage contaminates two rivers
The warning is in place until further notice.

TWO South Coast rivers are contaminated with sewage and Ethekwini Municipality has issued a health warning to the public.
“The municipality regrets to inform residents that due to sewage spills from damaged sewer pipes, the Isipingo River, Isipingo Estuary, the Mbokodweni River and the Mbokodweni Estuary have been contaminated. Residents are urged to refrain from drinking, swimming, fishing or otherwise using the water,” said head of municipal communications, Tozi Mthethwa.
“The state of the water means that there may be a health risk should members of the community use or be exposed to the river water at this point. The city is undertaking emergency repairs on the damaged pipes.”
This warning is in place until further notice.
