Odd call-out for owl intruder

Security companies came to the rescue.

A DIFFERENT kind of intruder made its way into Diane Strickland’s School Road, Toti home in the early hours of Sunday morning, 30 November.

“At about 3.30am, I heard a noise, but saw no movement, so I thought nothing of it,” she said.

On her way to church at about 6.30am and as she came downstairs, Diane saw the intruder – a fully grown owl in her lounge. “The only way it could have got in was through the chimney. That was the noise I heard, it falling down the chimney.”

She contacted Blue Security and CCPO for assistance and between them, the owl was safely removed from the house. Once outside, it flew off. “It was a bit of an odd call-out for security assistance,” said Diane.
