Old pump house demolition confirmed

eThekwini Municipality has heeded repeated requests to demolish the old pump house in the vicinity of Amanzimtoti Civic Centre.

“Following several months of requests to the municipality with regard to the old pump house along the Amanzimtoti River bank, we are able to confirm that the assessment is complete and the building is now scheduled to be demolished, as it is considered both unsafe and excess to council requirements,” said ward 97 councillor, Andre Beetge.

“Budget is already allocated, but with industry scheduled to go into year-end recess, a contractor will only be appointed in 2015 to attend its demolition.”
