Civic group works to improve Toti

A community meeting takes place on Wednesday, 17 December

A NEW non-profit, community-based group, Sapphire Community calls on residents living between Athlone Park and Umkomaas to join up.

“Do you know that eThekwini has approved plans to improve our areas? We want to make these concepts a reality, and it can only work with the backing of the community. We need to show how much we value our home and how much potential is here. We have the most stunning beaches in eThekwini and it’s time it’s recognised and invested in,” said Glynis Rathbone.
Glynis is well-known in Warner Beach, having being active in the Warners Action Group (WAG) a number of years ago, which played a vital role in the regeneration and upgrade of the area.

To hear more about the plans and what you can do to show the municipality that they deserve to be implemented, attend a meeting on Wednesday, 17 December at 4pm at Blue Sky Mining in Dowling Road, Warner Beach.
Confirm your attendance by emailing creativejuiceem@gmail.com. Note this is not an event hosted by Creative Juice, but simply a chance to learn more about how to get behind the area’s regeneration. There will be a cash bar available after the talk.

A Facebook Page: SapphireCommUnity has been started to highlight and create awareness of the project. “We call on the public to suggest a name or hashtag that incorporates the vibe of the whole region, including Pipeline, Inyoni Beach, Baggies, Winkle Rocks, Illovo Beach, Umgababa Beach and Aliwal Shoal and everything in between.”
Glynis reiterated that there are many passionate people in the area who have been working hard and putting in effort. “We can make a difference. Get on board.”
