More than half of strays adopted at open day

NPO thanks the public for its support.

ANIMAL welfare organisation, 4 Paws and a Tale Rescue held its first adoption day with the support of Pets Deli and Accessories in Scottburgh on Saturday, 7 February.

“It finished off on a high note. We took in 14 dogs needing homes and left at the end of a busy morning with 10 offers of homes. Seven have already been placed after home visits were conducted and the others will be finalised within the next few days,” said the organisation’s Nicky Koekemoer.

“Thanks to Ian Hardwick, David Hardwick and Derick of Pets Deli for this amazing opportunity to raise more awareness and much-needed exposure for our rescues in need of loving homes. Ian and David approached us to host an adoption day at their pet shop and what an amazing idea it was. Support them, they give us such awesome support. We will host more adoption days and will announce dates.

Dogs already homed are: Star to Tercia Naude in Pennington; Poppett to Dawn Hall in Toti; Mertel to Sharon Bramwell in Scottburgh; Nana and Nellie to Hannes Barnard in Bazley; Kola to Nick Celliers in Widenham and Walker to Sean Geerlings in Widenham.

Just over 100kg of dog food was donated and R840 in cash donations received. “Thanks to everyone who donated and supported this event – you make 4 Paws and a Tale Rescue a success.”
