Resident blacks out after attack

He was struck with a brick.

THIEVES pounced on a resident, minutes after he alighted from a train at Toti station on Friday, 13 March at about 1.45pm.

The perpetrators struck after Johan Paulson (28) removed money from his backpack and placed it in his pockets. “I was walking up a flight of stairs to Ridge Road where I live, when I felt a blow to my head. I think about six or seven people surrounded me.” The robbers made off with R1,100.

He was hit with a brick, blacked out, struck the stairs and sustained injuries to his forehead and ribs.

He travels to work daily by train to Umbilo. “I have never had a problem on the train. About three months ago, people tried to rob me on the bridge at the station, but I fought back and got away.”
