Lions project to bring warmth extended
Help the service organisation keep the less fortunate warm this winter.

KINGSBURGH Lions Club appeals to the public to contribute to two campaigns it currently has on the go.
Its annual scarves and beanies campaign is usually finalised before Easter so that items can be handed out as Easter gifts.
“This year we were unfortunately not able to collect as many as in the past for various reasons, and have therefore decided to combine this appeal with our annual ‘Anything Warm’ campaign. This will give those friends who so faithfully knit or crochet for us, more time to do so,” said Lion president, Pat Wilson.
The annual anything warm campaign appeals to the public from Athlone Park to Illovo Beach to donate one item of warm clothing or bedding, suitable for any age group, as long as it is clean and in good condition.
If anyone has anything warm to donate, drop off at the following venues:
- Illovo Beach: Illovo Nursery;
- Winklespruit: Jenny’s Hair Salon;
- Warner Beach: South Coast Cycles;
- Doonside: Amanda’s Restaurant;
- Amanzimtoti: Jaxx Hair;
- Athlone Park: Moden Wave Hair Salon.
The club thanks the businesses who have kindly permitted the to use their premises as drop-off points.
As usual, if people are unable to use the above drop-off points, the club is willing to collect and can be contacted as follows:
Lion president Pat on 031-916-7801 or 082-550-3159, Lion Wendy on 031-903-5563 or 082-925-4168, Lion Helen on 031-903-5066 or 072-074-5278, Lion
Moira on 082-876-3239, Lion Gwennie on 031-903-4036 or 082-820-3230 and Lion Gwen on 084-626-9592.
“We urge the community of Amanzimtoti and Kingsburgh to be as generous this year as they have been in the past and help us make a difference to those less fortunate as winter approaches,” said Pat.
