Body found in Twini River

He was identified by his family.

A BODY was found drifting in the Umbogintwini River near Nyathi Road, Athlone Park on Monday, 11 May at about 4pm.

“Toti SAPS responded and the body of an Indian man was recovered from the river by the search and rescue team. He was identified by his next-of-kin as Dysmand Harbit (55) who went missing on Saturday, 2 May,” said Toti SAPS communications officer, Capt Charlene van der Spuy.

A missing persons report was filed by the next-of-kin on the day Harbit went missing.
“He was found clothed in the same attire as the day he went missing. The cause of death is unknown.”

An inquest docket was opened for further investigation.
