Artists collaborate to extend their knowledge

The public also popped in to have a cuppa and a snack at this informal session.

ON Saturday, 4 July, member artists of the Upper South Coast Art Association (USCAA) spent the day at Toti library activities room.

Ritha Fenske organised the event and facilitated the day.

Each artist took their own painting to work on and during the day, different methods and techniques that each artist uses were displayed and demonstrated to the rest of the group.

The public also popped in to have a cuppa and a snack at this informal session. Some of the artists took along friends who were interested in learning more about art so they could try their hand at sketching or painting.

The highlight of the day was the two collaborative paintings – one a watercolour and the other an oil painting. Ritha had started off a theme on each painting and then the artists were all invited to paint something of their choice to expand the theme. It was tremendous fun and everyone learnt something new.

USCAA hopes to do this again every quarter. If anyone is interested in joining the free art class on 18 July at the activities room from 9am to 11.30am, they are most welcome. Watch the press for details.
