Get water-savvy gardening tips at plant fair

THE annual Botanical Society (BotSoc) indigenous plant fair takes place from Friday to Sunday, 14 to 16 August from 9am to 5pm daily.

All are welcome and entrance is free.It is being held in partnership with the Sustainable Living Exhibition at the Durban Exhibition Centre, gate E, on the corner of Samora Machel Street (Aliwal) and Bram Fischer Road (Ordnance) opposite the parking ground.

A wide range of good quality, water-wise plants, flowering ground covers, shrubs, and trees will be available. Plant experts will ably assist with queries. Drive in to collect your plants after paying.

The 2015 indigenous gardening handbook entitled Planting Solutions which is full of excellent advice on gardening challenges, will be on sale at the fair and at nurseries and other outlets shortly before the fair. The content will include descriptions of plants on sale with recommendations of where, how and what to plant.

Other interests at the fair are plant displays and talks. Visit the exhibitions inside the hall for information about flora, fauna, conservation and for inspiration for living a green lifestyle.
