Motorist hijacked at N2 off-ramp

They drove off in his vehicle towards Umbumbulu.

A MOTORIST was robbed and hijacked of his vehicle on the N2 Winkespruit off-ramp on Friday evening, 16 October.

“The complainant was driving a white Toyota Avanza when he stopped at the stop street on the off-ramp, indicating to turn right on to the R603. Two men approached him, pointed guns at him and demanded he get out of his vehicle,” said Toti SAPS communications officer, Capt Charlene van der Spuy.

When he got out of his vehicle, the robbers searched him and took his cellphone.They got into the Avanza and drove off in the direction of Umbumbulu.

It is unknown at this stage whether the men were on foot or in another vehicle.

A case of hijacking is being investigated by Toti detectives.
