BREAKING NEWS: Residents burn tyres in protest to four-day water, power cuts

A Sun reporter is on the scene and more updates will follow shortly.

Residents of Old Main Road (at the top of Seadoone Road) at the entrance to KwaFelikize are burning tyres in the road in protest to the lack of water and electricity in the area since last Thursday.

An Old Main Road resident told the Sun that when she called the city to complain about the outages, she was told that “a sub-station had blown up because of illegal electricity connections” and this had resulted in the prolonged four-day outage.

By Monday, 1 February, residents were still without water and electricity and were clearly fed up, taking to the road to show their dissent.
