BREAKING NEWS: Elderly woman attacked with hoe, robbed

She was left seriously injured and has been hospitalized

A 77-year-old woman was left seriously injured after being attacked with a hoe by robbers at her Umkomaas home at about 4pm on Wednesday afternoon, 18 May.

Reports from the scene indicate the woman was assaulted with a hoe – a long-handled gardening tool with a thin metal blade, used mainly for weeding.
The men fled with some of the woman’s belongings.

Netcare911 paramedics stabilised the seriously wounded elderly woman at the scene before transporting her to a nearby hospital.
