Entries extended for bake-off

Entries have been extended until 1pm on Saturday

ENTER the Fairy Godmother’s Next Great Baker competition and stand a chance to win a voucher for two nights at a Drakensberg resort.

The bake-off takes place at Amanda’s @No 16 Rockview Road on Saturday, 9 July where you get to enter your best bakes and stand a chance to win some great prizes.

Note that professional bakers and the rest of Toti will be judged separately

It costs R100 to enter and funds go towards helping matrics who can’t afford the costs to go to their matric balls with outfits and the exorbitant price of tickets.

“The weekend getaway at Goodersons Monks Cowl Golf Resort will be done as a lucky draw and tickets cost R10 each. However, all entries as bakers or judges get one free entry into the lucky draw,” said one of the Fairy Godmother founders, Caroline Bowker.

“Note that professional bakers and the rest of Toti will be judged separately – we won’t judge those who do it for a living and those who do it for fun in one category.”

Prizes include:

  • A 30-minute sports massage from Craig Short,
  • Honey hamper from Carol McPhail,
  • ice cream maker from the Klusener family,
  • month free gym membership at Venus Gym,
  • month free membership at Shapes,
  • two R250 vouchers from Brunchies,
  • voucher from Periwinkle,
  • hair make-over to the value of R550 from Hairy Fairy,
  • Sharks cooler bucket from Martie Hefer,
  • children’s Acorn hamper,
  • cleaning hamper and coconut oil soaps from Linro,
  • meat hamper from Sohans,
  • photo shoot from Robyn Schultz,
  • custom-made children’s outfit from Tyrilove,
  • two meal vouchers from Mimmos,
  • meal voucher from Shot Brew,

If any pupil needs help to get to their matric ball, forms are available at the schools or inbox Caroline on the Facebook page ‘My Fairy Godmother (ZA) Toti’

The Toti public will judge the bakes anonymously at a great cake tasting that costs R60 to participate.

Under 12 bakers are also invited to enter.

Entries have been extended until 1pm on Saturday and judging takes place at 2pm. Entry forms are available at Amanda’s, Shot Brew at 22 Rockview Road or Hairy Fairy Hair Salon at Pick n Pay Winklespruit.

If you can’t bake but can donate a prize, contact Caroline on 076-686-4491.
