Lions plans outing for physically challenged

To provide much-needed stimuli for the mind and body

THE Lions Club of Kingsburgh plans to host a morning of fun and entertainment for people within the community who are physically challenged, starting from the month of September.

“The purpose of this undertaking is to provide these people with much-needed stimuli for the mind and body by means of music, dancing, ball games, memory games or puzzles,” said president, Helen Toward.

“As the exercise is aimed at families who have loved ones residing in their homes and not those who are placed in a specialised care facility, it also creates a social environment for those with similar challenges.”

The project will include people who suffer from mild Down’s syndrome or cerebral palsy, amputees, paraplegics and the hearing-impaired.

For more information, call Lion Lyn Lyle on 031-903-4051 or Lion President, Helen Toward on 031-903-5066.
