N2, Kingsway traffic snarls as bakkies crash on freeway

FOUR people were injured in a head-on collision on the N2 northbound this morning near the Dickens Road off-ramp.

According to Netcare 911’s Chris Botha, it appears as if a bakkie travelling south lost control, crossed the central median and crash head-on into another bakkie.

With the aid of the fire department, Netcare 911 paramedics used the Jaws of Life to extricate one of the men. He and his wife suffered serious injuries. A second couple in the other vehicle suffered moderate injuries. All four are being transported to hospital.

Traffic has been severely affected by the accident on the N2 as well as Kingsway Road as motorists search for other routes.
