The Upper South Coast Art Association (USCAA) enjoyed a successful opening of its art gallery at Toti Oasis on Monday, 16 January.
“It has been overwhelming. The public have said that a gallery here has been long overdue and they are delighted that we have taken the plunge and decided to do this,” said USCAA president, Patricia McCann.
Currently 11 artists are exhibiting their artwork and over 80 paintings that vary in subject from floral, seascapes, landscapes, abstract and wildlife, as well as domestic animals and people in different situations.
The paintings are varied between water colours, oils, pastels and acrylic, and some are vary impressionistic.
“We also have a couple of paintings on show that are in support of the Mason Lincoln Special School,” said Patricia. “The pupils take art as a subject and have a very colourful representation of how they interpret life.”
The USCAA gallery is situated at the Caltex Toti Oasis on the corner of Inyoni Rocks Road and Kingsway.
It’s convenient for people to get a refreshment and browse the beautiful artworks on display.
The gallery is open daily from 9am to 4pm and on Saturday mornings.
