Hijackers drop off terrified Montclair woman in Umlazi

They told her to remain silent as they got into the vehicle

A MONTCLAIR woman was left stranded and traumatised after three men dropped her in Engonyameni, near Umlazi, before fleeing with her vehicle on Saturday, 25 November.
While she was about to enter her home in Montclair’s Glen Road, she was approached by the men, one of whom produced a firearm.

They told her to remain silent as they got into the vehicle. They drove off with the woman in tow.

On their way they stopped and told her to get out the car, “She was asked if her car had a tracking device installed but she didn’t know. One of the hijackers stayed with her in a bush while the others made a phone call. They returned and continued to drive towards their destination, where they dropped her off,” said Montclair SAPS communication officer, Captain Dereck Vijiam.
After they left, she ran to a nearby house but nobody answered. She eventually someone who assisted her by contacting her husband.
