Pensioners Friend launch kicks off new product
First issue of the Pensioners Friend booklet will be launched on Wednesday, 19 September
THE official launch of the Pensioners Friend booklet took place on Tuesday, 11 September at 305 Guest House Conference Centre.
The event was attended by over 20 advertisers and like-minded business people from Amanzimtoti.
The guest of honour was ward 97 councillor Andre Beetge who praised the new booklet by saying from his experience, a great many grannies are completely addicted to Facebook and the big difference the new printed media will make for people who do not have internet access or smartphones. Guest speakers were Bruce Jackson from Oakleigh Funeral Home, who discussed the booklet’s humble beginnings and how it all began, and Durban attorney Shika Siverpersad who spoke on the importance of having an up-to-date will in place.
Afterwards, guests all got together to network and share their ideas for the booklet going forward, while enjoying some delicious refreshments. The public launch of the Pensioners Friend booklet is on Tuesday, 16 October where up to 100 pensioners are invited to attend to network with advertisers and our other business partners who are interested in assisting senior citizens. Nothing will be sold on the day and refreshments will be provided for guests.
The excitement continues to grow with many pensioners eagerly awaiting the launch of the first issue of the Pensioners Friend booklet on Wednesday, 19 September. The initial print run of 400 colour booklets will be distributed at old aged homes, at advertisers’ premises and at certain other local outlets and depending on demand, extra copies will be printed in black and white.
