Welfare’s anti-violence workshops to demo self defence
These workshops aim to equip women to identify and manage their risk, and deal with incidents of domestic violence.

KINGSBURGH Child and Family Welfare will host workshops as part of its anti-violence campaign against women and children this month.
There are many different aspects of the problem which will be discussed and addressed.
On Wednesday, 28 November a workshop to develop skills to identify and deal with domestic violence will be held at the welfare branch’s Hall Road office.
On Thursday, 29 November at St Mary’s Anglican Church (157 Kingsway Road) at 3pm, experts from Combat Zone will demonstrate and educate participants in self-defense and self-preservation techniques, providing skills to prevent victimisation and physical abuse.
Booking is essential and an entrance fee of R50 is payable. Contact the welfare team on 031-916-2274 for bookings.
