UPDATE: Amanzimtoti SAPS confirm couple commits Beach Road suicide

The couple both died this morning.

A COUPLE died by suicide this morning, (Saturday, 13 April) in Beach Road, Amanzimtoti.

The couple allegedly got into separate sleeping bags and around 6am, jumped off the roof of Stella Maris Flats onto the promenade.

 
“The couple was aged 77-years-old. It is alleged the husband was a cancer sufferer,” said Amanzimtoti SAPS communication, Captain Charlene van der Spuy. “They left one suicide note detailing funeral arrangements and a sealed letter addressed to a family member.”

A case of Inquest has been opened.
