SATURDAY, 31 AUGUST: Reformed Church market day at Tabor Hall, 5 Middleton Road, Winkelspruit from 9am. There will be a tea garden, pancakes, jaffels, sweets, books, needlework, wood crafts, wooden jewelry and loads more on sale.

SATURDAY, 31 AUGUST: BirdLife Port Natal hosts an outing to Empisini Nature Reserve at 6.30am. Experience superb coastal forest, rich in birdlife and a chance to see the Narina trogan bird. Bring chairs and a picnic for afterwards. For more information, call Sithembiso Majoka on 073-479-8585.

SUNDAY, 1 SEPTEMBER: Enjoy an spring craft market at 111 Pig and Whistle Drive, Clansthal from 9am to 2pm. The community of Clansthal works hard to ensure its conservancy is pristine, so visitors can enjoy the beautiful facilities. To raise funds for essential costs, Keith and Liz Cunningham open their home to host an enjoyable Sunday where visitors can relax in a beautiful garden. SUNDAY, 1 SEPTEMBER: British South Africa police braai at Mills Bomb Shellhole, Warner Beach from 11am. Salads and rolls will be provided. Bring your own meat, cutlery and plates. Call Marie Bowker on 079-386-4185.

SATURDAY, 7 SEPTEMBER – Karaoke fundraiser at the Good Shepherd Anglican Church in Athlone Park from 4.30pm. Cost is R60 per person, which includes cheese and wine, soft drinks and curry and rice. SATURDAY, 7 SEPTEMBER: Kingsburgh Lions flea market at St Mary’s Anglican Church, 157 Kingsway, Warner Beach from 7am to 10am. There will be many bargains for everyone and delicious pancakes, curry rolls and other refreshments on sale.

THURSDAY, 12 SEPTEMBER: Khanya Hospice’s 34th annual AGM takes place at 7 Winder Street, Umkomaas at 5pm for 5.30pm. This promises not to be a long meeting. All are welcome to attend. MONDAY, 16 SEPTEMBER: Amanzimtoti Child and Family Welfare Society’s AGM takes place at the corner of Adams (Khotho Mkhunya) Road and Lewis Drive from 9.30am for 10am. The guest speaker is Razyia Docrat, a civil practitioner at Legal Aid. Refreshments will be served afterwards.
