Toti bowlers emerge victorious in women’s nominated pairs

The first round of the men’s drawn 4’s will start on Sunday, 29 September.

Toti Bowling Club’s Doreen Salmond and Marion Crouch defeated Tokkie de Kock and Dani Cardoso in a very exciting final to retain the women’s nominated pairs title for 2019.

Spectators thoroughly enjoyed the game which went right down to the wire and was tense to the last bowl. In the women’s mutton the winners were Pam Chalder-Royle, Jenny Delport, Jackie Holdrick and Dot Liebetrau. Runners up were Nicky Stirzaker, Delysia Mitchley, Dave Gardner and Denise Bingham, while second session went to Heather Brown, Kathy Cox, Brad Cox and Lys McDonald.

In the men’s competition the winners were Alec Stirzaker, Mike Groom, Keith West and John Mitchley. Ian Crouch, Lofty van Tonder, Vish Studinski and Barry Bush were runners up, and Vince Marriott, Dennis Hughes, Mike Roberts, Ben Venter won second session. The 100 board went to Jaylene Fagan.

In the Victory KwikSpar women’s trips the winners were Lys McDonald, Linda McGregor and Cathy Badenhorst; runners-up were Denise Bingham, Amanda Ninow and Dani Cardoso, and the second session went to Doreen Salmond, Cathy Cox and Adrienne Robbins. Vera Broskie won the 100 board.

The winner of the TGIF 100 board was Jacqui Birch. Fred Welch won the attendance draw, so the pot goes back to R100 next week. Jenny Rautenbach got this week’s chance to try to find the right key, but sadly she didn’t manage to find it, so next week’s jackpot will be worth R5 140 with 28 keys to choose from.

In the men’s monthly trips, Cleve Hein and Fred Rautenbach were overall winners. Eric Klopper and Barry Bush were runners-up and the second session was won by Glen Scorgie and Peter Callaghan.

The first round of the men’s drawn 4’s will start on Sunday, 29 September. Players should be at the club by 8.15am for the open draw, and last call to pay and register. Thursday, 3 October, will be burgers and bowls at 5pm for 5.30pm, weather permitting.

Birthday greetings this week go to Innocent Sithole, Nicky Stirzaker and Philip Perkins.
