Kuswag Skool rugby tour cancelled

The news came as a blow to the learners after they were unable to raise the money that was required in a limited time period.

The Kuswag Skool Namibia rugby tour has been cancelled indefinitely and legal action is being taken against the tour company that fled with the money that was raised. A group of 23 learners intended on travelling to Namiba for a rugby tour in March this year.

They managed to raise a total of R200 000 last year, however, the money was stolen. Although the players hoped that the tour could still be possible, only R1 300 were raised since December last year. The news came as a blow to the learners after they were unable to raise the money that was required in a limited time period. But, all hope is not lost as a mini tour might still be possible for the players. The money raised on the crowd funding platform will be used as a deposit for a tournament in Volksrust, Mpumalanga in March.

Coach Zander Erasmus explained that every effort to make the trip possible was made and said, “At this stage it was financially impossible for us to make the Namibian tour a reality. Even though we did not want to cancel the trip, we had no choice but to do so. We are in the process of taking legal action. “The learners remain hopeful that the Mpumalanga tour will be possible.”
