Housebreaker threatens Amanzimtoti response officer

Ashley Naidoo of ET and the CCPO’s Lloyd Maphumulo managed to apprehend the suspect.

A housebreaker was apprehended after he broke into a Louis Botha Avenue residence and threatened to stab the responding CCPO officer on Tuesday afternoon, 12 May. “The suspect broke through a concrete fence and then ripped the resident’s aircon off the wall. Fortunately, the neighbors saw him and being CCPO members, called for assistance,” said CCPO committee member, George Snodey.

Ashley Naidoo of ET and the CCPO’s Lloyd Maphumulo managed to apprehend the suspect, who pulled out a large knife and threatened Lloyd. According to Toti detectives, they could have a warrant of arrest for this suspect, but it could not be confirmed at the time of going to press.

The CCPO warns lawbreakers that if they are desperate to buy cigarettes, to make sure they get what they are paying for. “I know of three incidents where guys are walking around shopping centres selling smokes in the car park. A person bought some boxes in the car park at Seadoone Mall and they were stuffed with paper.”
